How it works

How a payment works.

Every payment follows the same auditable lifecycle from invoice to settlement.

    01

    Merchant creates an invoice

In GEL or another supported pricing currency, via the API or dashboard.

    02

    Customer chooses asset and network

For example USDT on TRON. The rate is locked for the life of the invoice.

    03

    ZoPay displays payment details

Exact amount, unique address, QR code and expiry time.

    04

    Blockchain transaction is detected

Listeners watch the network and match the incoming transfer to the invoice.

    05

    Confirmation and KYT screening

The transfer is confirmed on-chain and screened against risk and sanctions data.

    06

    Exceptions are placed on hold

High-risk, underpaid, overpaid or wrong-network payments are held for review instead of being credited.

    07

    Merchant receives a signed webhook

Every status change is delivered as an HMAC-signed event you can verify.

    08

    Transaction appears in the ledger

Amounts, fees and balances are recorded in an immutable double-entry ledger.

    09

    Settlement is processed

Approved balances are settled according to the merchant agreement, with references for reconciliation.

Coverage

Supported assets and networks.

Each asset–network pair is treated as a distinct currency with its own confirmation policy.

Asset Networks Confirmation policy
USDT TRON · BNB Smart Chain · Ethereum Configurable per network
USDC Polygon Configurable per network
BTC Bitcoin Configurable per amount

Asset and network availability is confirmed during merchant onboarding and may change before launch.

HMAC-signed events for every status change, with retries and delivery logs.

Transaction monitoring

KYT screening of incoming transfers with configurable risk decisions.

Under & overpayment handling

Deterministic rules for partial, excess, late and wrong-network payments.

Merchant ledger & reconciliation

An immutable double-entry ledger reconciled against on-chain state.

Audit exports

One-click export of a complete payment dossier: timeline, screening, ledger and settlement.

Compliance

Compliance controls at every payment step.

ZoPay is designed to support wallet screening, transaction monitoring, configurable risk decisions, audit records and payment-exception handling.

Who performs KYT screening?

Incoming transactions are screened by ZoPay's monitoring engine using blockchain-analytics data, applying rules configured for each merchant's risk profile.

What happens to high-risk transactions?

They are placed on hold and are not credited to the merchant. A compliance officer reviews each case and approves, rejects or escalates it according to policy.

Who controls private keys?

Keys are generated and stored encrypted inside an isolated signing service with hot-wallet limits. They are never exposed to the application, merchants or staff.

How are sanctions alerts handled?

A potential sanctions match freezes the payment immediately. Confirmed matches are escalated and reported as required by applicable law.

How long are records retained?

Transaction, screening and audit records are designed to be retained for the periods required by applicable Georgian law.

How does merchant onboarding work?

Merchants pass KYB review — company documents, directors and beneficial owners — and receive a risk rating before live access is granted.

What is available for regulatory export?

A complete dossier per payment: event timeline, blockchain transaction, screening result, ledger entries, settlement references and administrator actions.

Reconciliation

Merchant reconciliation and reporting.

Every amount, fee and balance is recorded in a double-entry ledger you can check, export and reconcile.

  • Immutable double-entry ledger for every payment, fee and settlement
  • Balances continuously reconciled against on-chain state
  • CSV statements and structured exports for accounting
  • Settlement batches with bank-style references
  • Complete audit dossier export per payment
